Could Tai Chi be beneficial for Diabetes, Arthritis, back pain and the like? Clearly these video’s go some way to suggesting that it could. Practitioners of Modern Tai Chi recognise that the practice of Modern Tai Chi “Health” can be beneficial as an exercise, although they do not believe that there is any “Magical” formula held within the Tai Chi form.
We do believe that the practice of a stylised form that focuses on the slow and gentle movement of “Tai Chi” (Yin / Yang balance) can help individuals become better coordinated, balanced and help their body to function correctly. We believe that the practice of a slow / none impact exercise that “opens” the breathing manipulates the body (inside and out!) does greatly aid our mental and physical welling. Modern Tai Chi does not require the student to learn complex or elaborate forms, our Health form is based on repetitive movements that are strategically linked so that an individual can prolong their practice as they require without the need to learn long and complex forms.
