Modern Tai Chi is an exciting and challenging health & fitness system. It is based on a combination of ancient exercise routines (the forms) and Modern Martial Arts Fitness programmes. The Modern Tai Chi programme is much easier to learn than traditional Tai Chi (which can take many years). It is less critical and does not involve many of the prolonged forms that students can find difficult and frustrating to learn. The Modern Tai Chi programme contains just two “short forms”. The combat 12 form and the health 12 form. These forms are basically the same, however, one is practiced in such a way as to maximise the health and mental attributes of Tai Chi whilst the other is performed to maximise the martial application of each of the postures. Students practice both to the best of their abilities to create a true “Yin Yang” balance.
